A communication apparatus (100-1) currently operating in a base station mode selects, on the basis of the operating states of communication apparatuses (100-1 to 100-4), a new base station communication apparatus that is to operate in the base station mode anew, and thereafter the communication apparatus (100-1) reports the selected new base station communication apparatus. Each of the communication apparatuses other than the new base station communication apparatus makes a connection request to the new base station communication apparatus, and thereafter starts an operation in a terminal mode belonging to the new base station communication apparatus. The communication apparatus (100-1) reports to the effect that the communication apparatus (100-1) is to terminate the base station mode, and thereafter the communication apparatus (100-1) terminates the base station mode, while each of the communication apparatuses (100-2 to 100-4) terminates the terminal mode belonging to the communication apparatus (100-1). |
