PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly detect a blank area so as to increase the opportunities for skipping the blank area.SOLUTION: Multiple cycles of dot forming operation and conveyance operation are performed. By adding a predetermined conveyance amount to a position in a dot area formed by the Nth cycle of dot forming operation for each nozzle row, a top position of a dot area which can be formed by the (N+1)th cycle of dot forming operation, is computed (S203). The size of a blank area of each color placed from the each top position to a portion where a dot row of a color corresponding to the nozzle row is required, is computed (S204). A minimum value in the sizes of the blank areas of the colors is computed as a skip amount. A conveyance amount of the Nth cycle of conveyance operation is determined by adding the skip amount to a predetermined conveyance amount (S208). |
