摘要 <p>The method involves delivering an activation signal to a shape memory alloy (SMA) actuator (12) coupled to a load (14) by a power source (16). A controller (18) is coupled to the power source and actuator for monitoring an electrical resistivity of actuator at preset time. An event such as change in slope without reaching a valley or jump in resistance is determined based on analyzing derivative of electrical resistivity change signal of SMA actuator. A response signal is transmitted to analyze operation of actuator, when the event of actuator is determined.</p>
