The airbag has multiple cutting portions (10,12) which are connected to each other by seam and together forms an outer wall of the airbag. The outer wall of the airbag encloses an inner space filled with gas. The two cutting portions have tongue-like edge sections (24,28,28') projecting over a seam in the finished state of the airbag. The projecting edge sections of the two cutting portions are fastened to each other and forms a rebound strap extending through the inner space of the airbag.
