PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a receiving device and a receiving method, which exchange receiving information with many tabulation centers and cope with the case where configuration such as the number of diversity at the receiving device side and a mounting position and height of an antenna when mounted on a car differ.SOLUTION: One site to be desired is selected from the many general tabulation centers on the Internet by a site selection section 114, and a site address of the site and site information that is an initial setting required for data collecting from the site are sent to a control section 110. Local receiving information is received by a two way communication section 115 to be stored by a storage section 111 for performing optimization of the local receiving information.
