PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a thermo-element which is high in responsibility and excellent in durability for smoothly converting the cubical expansion of a heat expansion body constituted of paraffin of the thermo-element into linear motion.SOLUTION: A thermo-element includes: a bottomed case (1); a heat expansion body (2) filled in the case and including paraffin which expands and contracts due to temperature change; a piston (6) moving in an axial direction; a guide member (5) by which the piston is held so as to freely slide; and a liquid chamber (4) for storing a freely deformable incompressible fluid between the heat expansion body (2) and the piston (6). The piston is moved in the axial direction via the incompressible fluid in the liquid chamber in accordance with the expansion/contraction of the heat expansion body. A cornice (35) is fixed to a gap between the upper part of the piston and the upper part of the guide member, and a liquid space (28) is formed between the outer periphery part of the upper part of the piston and the cornice (35) such that the fluid in the liquid chamber can enter and leave the liquid space via a through-hole (5f) and a radial direction hole (6i) inside the piston. |
