摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further efficiently obtain a damping effect in a vibration control building using multi-span damping. SOLUTION: In the vibration control building 10 including an internal building 30 composed of a multistoried building; an external building 20 constructed to surround the internal building 30 and lower in rigidity than the internal building 30; and a vibration control damper 40 provided to connect the internal building 30 to the external building 20, a base isolation layer 21 is provided in a lower part of the external building 20. According to this, compared with a case having no base isolation layer 21, the valid mass of the external building 20 is increased, the frequency that becomes a peak of frequency transmission function is reduced, and the transmission rate at a fixed point P in fixed-point theory is also reduced. Therefore, the attenuation constant of the vibration control damper 40 is adjusted so as to be peaked at the fixed point P, whereby the transmission rate of the external building 20 is reduced, or the higher damping effect can be obtained.
