[Class 18] Adhesive coated overlying flaps of cardboard boxes are sealed or pressed together in a press comprising a stationary platform 10 and a box carrying platform 1b that is movable thereagainst by operation of a treadle 9. The platform 1b is connected to the treadle by a rod 3 slidably mounted in a column 2 which is pivoted at 6 so that it can be swung forward to dotted line position for location and removal of the boxes, the treadle being slidably supported in a pivoted socket 7 for this purpose. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91, the press comprises a treadle supported between its ends by a pivoted link 9, Fig. 1 (Cancelled) (not shown) and movable to flap sealing position against the action of a spiral spring encircling a platform carrying rod 17 within a pivoted cylinder 2. Latches are provided to hold the treadle and the cylinder respectively in sealing and upright positions. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted. |
