PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of utilizing a projector part which is incorporated in a portable apparatus as a practical flashlight. SOLUTION: Since a light diffusing member 36a is provided, to be arranged on an optical path of projection light and diffuses the projection light, a clear contour of the projection light is blurred on the periphery, the projection light can be made a light which is suitable for the flashlight. Specifically, the light-diffusing member 36a is arranged on the optical path at non-display time when the projector part 30 does not generate the projection light of a display image, whereby the projector part 30 is operated in a flashlight mode, and is set in an operation state where it performs appropriate illumination as flashlight.
