NA BASED SECONDARY BATTERY

PURPOSE: A sodium secondary battery is provided to have a very excellent and stable rechargeable cycle characteristic, to prevent the battery characteristic deterioration due to repetitive charge and discharge, and to hardly occur the characteristic deterioration in the rechargeable cycle more than 500 times. CONSTITUTION: A sodium secondary battery comprises an anode (400) containing sodium; a catholyte (220) containing a sodium salt and a medium defined by Chemical formula 1: Y-A-(Y)n; a cathode (210) contacting with the catholyte; and a solid electrolyte (300) having the sodium ion conductivity, equipped between the anode and the catholyte. The medium includes polyhydric alcohol or hydroxyl acid. The catholyte contains 5-70 weight% of a sodium salt. The driving temperature of the sodium secondary battery is 100-200deg.C.
