PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a memory security system are provided to protect data which is stored in a memory of the portable terminal without an additional hardware apparatus and to prevent important information of a user from being leaked in a mobile environment and to prevent information from being leaked in a process in which an application program is executed. CONSTITUTION: A security mode is activated if an application program in which security of a memory is required is executed (1010). A part among areas in which the access within the memory is limited is allocated to a virtual security area if the security mode is activated (1020). If a command is received when the security mode is activated, whether the performance of the command is related to the access to the memory or not is determined (1030). If the performance of the command is related to the access of the memory, data which is necessary for the performance of the command is loaded in the virtual security area (1040).
