PURPOSE: A display device and a driving method thereof are provided to improve a color distortion phenomenon through a correction of a data value. CONSTITUTION: A pattern comparing unit (20) inspects a checker pattern about a pattern of data values. A first logical circuit (30) outputs a first logical signal in response to the inspection result of the pattern comparing unit in case the pattern of the data values corresponds to the checker pattern. A counter unit (40) inspects the domain of the checker pattern in response to a first logical signal. A second logical circuit (50) outputs a second logical signal in response to the inspection result of the counter unit in case the domain of the checker pattern is same or larger than a predetermined domain of a display panel. A data signal compensating unit (60) compensates and outputs data signals in response to the second logical signal.
