PURPOSE: An elevator with a function of controlling an emergency call and a control method thereof are provided to improve user convenience using voice recognition and impact signals at the same time. CONSTITUTION: An elevator with a function of controlling an emergency call using voice recognition and impact signals comprises a voice recognition unit (50), an impact signal unit (90), a voice recognition controller (100), and a main controller (20). The voice recognition unit is electrically connected to a microphone (52), and outputs operation signals by determining voice from the microphone. The impact signal unit is installed in the elevator, and outputs signals corresponding to impacts. The voice recognition unit outputs the signals for an emergency call (10) when the operation signals are outputted in order or at the same time. The main controller converts the elevator into an emergency call mode according to the signals outputted from the voice recognition unit.
