The device (1) has a container (20) containing a cosmetic product i.e. mascara, and a cylindrical body (2) that is extended by a neck (4). An applicator e.g. brush, includes a closure cap (3) that is arranged to be fastened on the neck and to close the container. An opaque cover (6) surrounds the neck, where the cover defines a space (64) between the neck and the cover. The cover is arranged such that the cap partly engages in the space in a closing position. The cover surrounds a part or totality of the body of the container.
