PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To more enhance continuity of operations from specification of a character type to specification of a recognition candidate than before while suppressing deterioration in a recognition rate due to recognition processing without specification of a character type.SOLUTION: A character recognition processing device comprises: a display control unit 3 that performs control so as to display character type buttons B1-B5; and a character recognition unit 5 that extracts a recognition candidate while limiting to a character type corresponding to a specified character type button B4. The display control unit 3 displays recognition candidate buttons f1-f4 in the vicinity of the character type button B4.
