PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a blower, in particular, a hot air blower such as a hair dryer.SOLUTION: A hand-held electric appliance includes: a body having a fluid inlet for allowing fluid to enter the electric appliance; a fluid outlet; a duct lined with a material; and a primary fluid flow path extending through the duct from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet. The material can be a foam or a felt, is a sound absorbing material, a vibration absorbing material, and an insulator, and can be tuned to resonance frequencies of the electric appliance. The primary fluid flow path can be made non-linear. The duct can have a non-circular cross-section and can include a handle portion of the electric appliance while the handle portion of the duct is lined with the material. Similarly a hand-held electric appliance includes: a body having a fluid inlet for allowing fluid to enter the electric appliance; a fluid outlet; a duct lined with a material; and a primary fluid flow path extending through the duct from the fluid inlet to the fluid outlet. |
