PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for sewing a texture and a multi-thread chain stitch sewing machine, capable of saving labor without the need for an effort for processing a needle thread end portion protruded from a surface of a texture due to sewing of the first stitch after starting of the sewing, and capable of improving efficiency of a sewing operation and operability of the texture and preventing damage to the texture.SOLUTION: A method for sewing a texture includes: forming a needle thread loop NTb below a needle plate 3 by two needles 1 holding a needle thread and vertically moving while feeding a texture W in a sewing advance direction A along an upper surface of the needle plate 3; capturing the needle thread loop NTb by advancing of a looper 2 capable of forward-and-backward motion in a direction substantially orthogonal to a vertically moving passage of the needle 1; and looping the captured needle thread loop NTb by a looper thread LT held by the looper 2 to form a multi-thread chain stitch in the texture W. In the method, a needle thread end portion NTa protruded from a surface of the texture W during sewing of the first stitch after starting of the sewing is moved and guided in a pushed-down state to a downstream side in the sewing advance direction by a pushing-down movement guide member 5 for sawing the needle thread end portion NTa into a seam A of a multi-thread chain stitch. |
