PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inverter that prevents the overload of a diode due to a recovery effect and supplies power to a power source.SOLUTION: An inverter includes two intermediate circuit capacitors C1 and C2 and first to fourth semiconductor switches S1 to S4. A common connection point SWP between the second and third semiconductor switches S2 and S3 is coupled to a supply power source Uac via a choke L1. The inverter includes first and second diodes D1 and D2 that are connected in series and their common connection point has the center voltage level of 0 V, and a second connection point between the first and second diodes D1 and D2 is coupled to a common connection point between the first and second semiconductor switches S1 and S2 or a common connection point between the third and fourth semiconductor switches S3 and S4. Additional chokes L2 to L6 are coupled to the common connection points among the first to fourth semiconductor switches S1 to S4, and a path for passing a free-wheel current is formed by additional semiconductor switches S5 to S9.
