An air-conditioning device (1) has an outdoor fan (36), and a refrigerant circuit (10) in which a compressor (21), an outdoor heat exchanger (23), an expansion valve (24), and an indoor heat exchanger (41) are connected. The air-conditioning device (1) carries out an expansion valve refrigerant discharge control if conditions in which the refrigerant becomes a liquid single phase are fulfilled at the exit and entrance of the expansion valve (24) when starting a cooling operation, and then carries out an expansion valve normal transition control. The expansion valve refrigerant discharge control stops the outdoor fan (36), and drives the compressor (21) while the expansion valve (24) is open. The expansion valve normal transition control reduces the aperture of the expansion valve (24) and increases the operation frequency of the compressor (21). |
