A liquid crystal display device and backlight module thereof, the backlight module comprising a light guide plate (100), a first prismatic lens (101) and a second prismatic lens (102); the first prismatic lens (101) is disposed above the light guide plate (100); the second prismatic lens (102) is disposed above the first prismatic lens; both the first prismatic lens (101) and the second prismatic lens (102) are provided with a plurality of prism structures; the prism structures (1011) of the first prismatic lens are perpendicular to the long side (1002) of the light guide plate; and the prism structures (1021) of the second prismatic lens form an angle of 15-45 degrees with the long side. The formation of the angle between the prism structures of the second prismatic lens and the long side of the light guide plate improves positive viewing angle luminance while obtaining wider viewing angle.
