PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disk array device that enables an effective use of a physical volume even with an unknown access pattern.SOLUTION: The disk array device comprises: a cache memory that stores write data undergoing a writing request from an external device; and at least one physical disk. The physical disk configures a logical disk including a plurality of logical blocks composed of a plurality of physical blocks. The disk array device includes allocation means that allocates a second physical block to a corresponding logical block when write data stored in the cache memory is writable to the second physical block having a storage volume smaller than that of a first physical block allocated to a corresponding logical block into which the write data is supposed to be written of the logical disk. |
