<p>A ball and socket joint (30) for a towing hook (11) for a vehicle, the ball and socket joint (30) comprising a ball portion (20) and a socket portion (40). The towing hook (11) can to be displaced between a towing position and a retracted position after assembly with the vehicle. The socket portion (40) of the ball and socket joint (30) is configured to enable the ball portion (20) to rotate at least 120 degrees about a first axis of rotation (Y, X, Z) and at least 80 degrees about a second axis of rotation (Y, X, Z), with respect to the towing position. The ball and socket joint provides for a sturdy and rigid construction while at the same time it permits the towing hook to be retracted to a compact and space saving configuration.</p> |
