In order to more effectively and completely remove the uncombusted deposit layer formed in the combustion zone of a blast furnace during operation, an apparatus and method are provided for removing the uncombusted deposit layer from the combustion zone of a blast furnace which include a shocking means for breaking up the uncombusted deposit layer by applying shock energy to the uncombusted deposit layer at the rear end of the combustion zone of the blast furnace. |
