PURPOSE: A light emitting device, a light emitting device package, and a light unit are provided to improve luminous efficiency by including an insulation layer and an active layer. CONSTITUTION: A first conductive semiconductor layer is formed with a nanorod shape. An insulation layer (17) is arranged on a first surface of the first conductive semiconductor layer. An active layer (13) is arranged on a second surface of the first conductive semiconductor layer. A second conductive semiconductor layer (15) is arranged on the active layer. The active layer is partially arranged on the insulation layer.
