PURPOSE: Contents reception method and reception device are provided to receive contents by a first terminal by transmitting state variation information of a second terminal to the first terminal when the second terminal is turning on although the second terminal storing contents to be received by the first terminal is in an off state. CONSTITUTION: A reception unit (310) receives state information, state variation of terminals and a contents list stored in the terminals. A detection unit (320) detects a terminal storing contents desired to be received based on the contents list. A generation unit (330) generates a download list including information showing reception of the contents from the detected terminal based on state information of the terminal. A transmission unit (340) transmits a contents transmission request signal to the terminal based on the download list. When the contents stored in the terminal is modified, the reception unit receives the contents modification information and updates the contents list.
