PURPOSE: An antibacterial composition is provided to show safety without side effects by using natural products and to have antibacterial activity, thereby being used in pharmaceutical products, detergents, or cosmetic materials. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial pharmaceutical composition contains a light-irradiated material of a Pueraria thunbergiana extract or a fraction thereof as an active ingredient. An antibacterial detergent composition contains the light-irradiated material as an active ingredient. A cosmetic composition contains the light-irradiated material as an active ingredient. The Pueraria thunbergiana extract or the fraction is irradiated by light at 2000-18000 lux for 1-24 hours.
