The seat (10) has a base (11) retractable toward a raised position and comprising two parts. The parts of the base have pivot axes approximately parallel to a longitudinal axis of a vehicle such that the parts of base are approximately fixed in vertical and parallel manner at a side of the vehicle in a raised position. A retractable backrest (12) comprises a single part with a pivot axis (14) approximately parallel to a transverse axis of the vehicle. The backrest is arranged in a horizontal manner in a retracted position and located between two reinforcements (15a). An independent claim is also included for a vehicle.
