PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to check an external target device corresponding to a specific body part, when the specific body part of a user contacts with the mobile terminal. CONSTITUTION: A microphone (122) receives voice from a user. A control unit (180) judges a specific body part by using the body frequency characteristics sensed from a sensing unit. The control unit checks a specific external target device matched with the specific body part in advance. The control unit judges a previously regulated control command to control the external target device on the basis of the voice received from the microphone. The control unit outputs a control signal for the specific external target device corresponding to the previously regulated control command through a wireless communication part.
