PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED lighting device in which normal mode lightning surge countermeasure is strengthened, and to provide a luminaire using the same.SOLUTION: The LED lighting device for lighting an LED by receiving power from an AC power supply includes a rectifier cell to which power is input, a first surge absorber connected between the input terminals of the rectifier cell, a second surge absorber connected between the output terminals of the rectifier cell, a capacitor connected between the output terminals of the rectifier cell, and a current control circuit for generating an LED current from the voltage of the capacitor and charging it to the LED. In the current-voltage characteristics of the first and second surge absorbers, the current flowing to the second surge absorber is smaller than the current flowing to the first surge absorber when the same voltage is applied. |
