PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a semiconductor device having reduced occupied area; provide a semiconductor device capable of operating at low power; and provide a semiconductor device which can retain data even when power supply is interrupted.SOLUTION: A semiconductor device comprises a first transistor, a second transistor and one capacitance. Data is written by storage of charge in the capacitance via the second transistor. Data is retained by making the second transistor be in an off-state. Data is read without being destroyed by the first transistor which is connected to a retention node between the second transistor and the capacitance. The second transistor and the capacitance are provided on the first transistor in a stacked manner and one electrode of the second transistor and one electrode of the capacitance are electrically connected with the gate of the first transistor. |
