PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an eyeglass lens reducing a risk that a CG mark is visually recognized even if a coating ensures the transparency of the eyeglass lens and a method for manufacturing the eyeglass lens.SOLUTION: The eyeglass lens comprises: a lens base material with a cut surface on which a wavy structure is formed by cutting a part corresponding to an optical surface on the lens base material with a cutting tool in machining; and the coating provided directly on the cut surface of the lens base material for securing the transparency of the eyeglass lens. An outermost surface of the eyeglass lens is machined to have a surface roughness such that the wavy structure or a periodic structure due to the wavy structure is not visually recognized with the eyeglass lens unpolished during projective inspection of the eyeglass lens, where the wavy structure is that periodic structure formed separately from a structure due to the cutting tool formed directly by the cutting tool in the cutting which has a longer period than the structure due to the cutting tool.
