PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformer that has a length and is formed thin, and can be made compact along the length and lightweight.SOLUTION: A transformer 1 which has a length includes a bobbin 2, a coil 11, an E type first core 21, and an E type second core 31. The bobbin 2 has a substantially elliptic drum portion 3 in which a substantially elliptic core insertion hole 3a extending along the length is formed, a first flange 4 connecting with one end of the drum portion 3, and a second flange 7 connecting with the other end of the drum portion 3. A coil 11 is wound around an outer periphery of the drum portion 3. A center leg 23 of the first core 21 and a center leg 33 of the second core 31 which are inserted into the core insertion hole 3a are substantially similar to the core insertion hole 3a, and no unnecessary gap is formed between the drum portion 3 and center legs 23, 33. |
