An image generation device provided with: a diagnostic image generation unit for generating video in which a predetermined site on a person or animal is imaged and/or temporally continuous images based on the video, as diagnostic images for each of a first time interval; an image target setting unit for acquiring in the diagnostic images a first image at a predetermined timing and a second image for each of a second time interval longer than the first time interval since the predetermined timing; a pixel color conversion unit for identifiably converting the color of pixels satisfying a predetermined condition among the pixels of the first image and the second images; and a display image generation unit for generating a display image by using the first image and second images in which the colors of the pixels have been converted by the pixel color conversion unit. This makes it possible to accurately perceive, on an image, the amount of state change at the predetermined site from the video in which the predetermined site of a person or animal is imaged.
