PURPOSE: A wireless remote metering method using a mobile communication network and a device thereof are provided to significantly reduce electric energy in comparison to a former method. CONSTITUTION: A metering unit (120) meters the usage of electricity, waterworks, and gas to transmit it to a control unit (105). The control unit turns on a power ON/OFF switch (115) to supply power of a power supply (125) to a wireless and wired communication unit (110). The control unit transmits the usage of electricity, waterworks, and gas to a relay or base station (135) through the wireless and wired communication unit and then stores it. The control unit turns off the switch to electrically turn off the communication unit so that a standby state between the communication unit and the relay or the base station is not maintained. The power ON/OFF switch performs a function connecting the power to the communication unit or removing the same according to a command of the control unit.
