PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sealing apparatus and a heat sealing method, which can equalize pressure for pressing a sealing member with a simple structure.SOLUTION: A heat sealing apparatus includes: a fixed shaft 20 horizontally arranged; an arm member 18 loosely and swingably suspended from the fixed shaft 20; an anvil 16 arranged at a lower part of the arm member 18, for receiving a container to be sealed with a sealing member; a heat head 12 arranged to face the anvil 16, for heating and pressing the sealing member onto the container; a force transmission portion having an inner wheel 24B mounted to the arm member 18 and an outer wheel 24A mounted through the inner wheel 24B and a bearing so as to be relatively swung to the axis of the inner wheel 24B; and a pressing means for pressing the outer wheel 24A of the force transmission portion to swing the arm member 18 and for urging the anvil 16 toward the head 12. |
