<p>PURPOSE: A destination floor input system for the security of an elevator and a control method thereof construct a security system of the elevator without a special hardware device by storing a gesture on a touch screen. CONSTITUTION: A power supply unit (10) supplies predetermined power for the operation of a destination floor input system. A display unit (20) provides lighting and a liquid crystal screen for the input of an initial registration button, a gesture, and a destination floor number button. A touch sensor unit is integrally formed on the display unit and senses the input of the registration button, the gesture, and the destination floor number button from a user. A recognition unit (40) recognizes the registration button, the gesture, and the number button inputted through the touch sensor unit. A storage unit (50) stores the information of a destination floor. A communication unit (60) transmits data to and receives it from a control panel of an elevator. When the information of the destination floor is stored in the storage unit by the operation of the registration button, the number button of the destination floor is displayed on the display unit and is transmitted to the control panel of the elevator through the communication unit. A control unit (70) controls the received information.
