PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spindle driving device of a machine tool capable of enlarging the range of torque and the rotational speed by multi-stage change while reducing the weight and the size of the device itself. SOLUTION: In the spindle driving device 1 of the machine tool in which the rotation of a driving shaft 22 of a motor unit 20 is transmitted to a spindle 11 to rotate the spindle 11, the three-phase wiring of the motor unit 20 is the Y-connection, and a low-speed winding for rotating the driving shaft 22 at low speed and a high-speed winding of the delta connection for rotating the driving shaft 22 at high speed can be changed each other, and an intermediate shaft unit 40 is provided between the spindle 11 and the driving shaft 22. By slidably moving the intermediate shaft unit 40 between the low-speed position and the high-speed position, the gear ratio of the spindle 11 to the driving shaft 22 can be changed.
