PURPOSE: A pain relief composition is provided to effectively prevent neuropathic pain or inflammatory pain using a Celastrus orbiculatus extract and to be used as various compositions such as a sleeping pill, a sedative, an anesthetic, and an analgesic. CONSTITUTION: A pain relief composition contains a Celastrus orbiculatus extract as an active ingredient. The extract is prepared by mixing Celastrus orbiculatus with methanol and treating the mixture by ultrasonic waves. Pain is neuropathic pain or inflammatory pain. A pain relief pharmaceutical composition contains the extract as an active ingredient.
