PURPOSE: A wireless communication device and an operation control method thereof are provided to enable a user to effectively select a network by providing the signal strength of a heterogeneous network. CONSTITUTION: A first switch(120) forms a first communication path by connecting to one or more antennas. A second switch(140) forms a second communication path by connecting to the one or more antennas. A control unit(170) controls the operation of a first switch in order to execute data communication through the formed first communication path. The control unit controls the second switch in the data communication to obtain the communication state of heterogeneous networks except for the first communication path.
