An apparatus and a method for compensating a frequency offset in a mobile communication system are provided to improve receive sensitivity by reducing the interference between frequencies in a frequency domain with low complexity. A method for compensating a frequency offset in a mobile communication system includes the steps of: converting a received signal into a signal of a frequency domain by performing the fast Fourier transform(203); estimating a frequency offset of the converted signal, and calculating a compensation vector for the estimated frequency offset based on the frequency offset of an opposite signal to the estimated frequency offset(207); and calculating convolution of the converted signal and the compensation vector(209). |
