PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a washing machine capable of capturing a foreign substance before it reaches a drain valve, and easily removing the captured foreign substance.SOLUTION: When a foreign substance such as a hairpin or a button that comes out from washing of laundry is discharged from a drain outlet 9 of a washing tub 2, the foreign substance is captured at a foreign substance capturing part 21 located at the upstream side of a drain valve 11 in a drain pipeline 10. In this case, the foreign substance capturing part 21 is located at the lower part of the drain outlet 9 of the washing tub 2, and the drain outlet 9 is located at the lower part of a pulsator 5 in the bottom of the washing tub 2, so that when the pulsator 5 is removed, the drain outlet 9 of the washing tub 2 is exposed to reveal the foreign substance capturing part 21 at the lower part from the drain outlet 9, and also the foreign substance that is captured by the foreign substance capturing part 21 from above. Thus, the foreign substance captured by the foreign substance capturing part 21 can be removed easily through the drain outlet 9. |
