PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method that prevents a print wrinkle and a failure without using a specific lubricant component at high density image printing and enables high quality image formation, and to provide a combination of a thermal transfer sheet and a thermal head.SOLUTION: Image formation is performed using a heat transfer sheet 10 and a thermal head. The heat transfer sheet includes a dye layer 2 on a front surface of a base material 1 and a binder and a back side layer 3 on a rear surface of the base material in which the back side layer contains a lubricant component whose melting point is 110°C or higher and 150°C or lower but does not contain a lubricant component whose melting point is 200°C or higher. The thermal head includes, on a support substrate, a plurality of heat generation parts arranged in a vertical direction with respect to a carrying direction of the heat transfer sheet and a levelling means for levelling temperatures of the heat generation parts for performing heat generation at dye transcription. |
