PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To switch a driving power source in a short time without any complicated operation, and without any powerless state in ship propulsion.SOLUTION: A hybrid propulsion device 12 is used for a ship 5 which obtains propulsion power by transmission of the power of a main engine 10 and an auxiliary engine 11 to a propeller 14 via a propeller shaft 13. The hybrid propulsion device 12 includes a wet multi-disk type hydraulic clutch 20 for transmitting the power of the main engine 10 to the propeller shaft 13, and a clutch 24 for an auxiliary engine for transmitting the power of the auxiliary engine 11 to the propeller shaft 13.
