PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of easily changing a rental period.SOLUTION: An image display device, projector 100, comprises: a clock section 26 for clocking the current date and time information; an expiration date storage section 24 for storing information of an expiration date until when use of the image display device is permitted; a password acceptance section, operation acceptance section 21, for accepting an input of a coded password PW on the basis of predetermined expiration date information; a decode section, controller 20, for decoding the predetermined expiration date information from information of the password PW accepted by the password acceptance section; a comparator, controller 20, for comparing the predetermined expiration date information decoded and the current date and time information; and an expiration date update section, controller 20, for causing the expiration date storage section 24 to store the predetermined expiration date information when the predetermined expiration date information decoded represents the current date and time or later. |
