PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smoothly perform storage processing in a configuration for recognizing a serial number when storing bills in a storage section.SOLUTION: A storage control unit (a control unit 513) of a bill processing device (a bill deposit/withdrawal device 1A) causes an identification unit 25 to recognize a denomination, and stores bills, the serial numbers of which are recognized to a prescribed number of digits, in a first category storage section (a storage cassette 31). The storage control unit causes the identification unit to recognize the denomination, and stores the bills, the serial numbers of which are recognized to less than the prescribed number of digits, in the second category storage section (a collection cassette 53 and a temporary retention section 51). |
