PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new succinimide compound useful for applications to an ashless dispersant in a lubricating oil for an internal-combustion engine, etc.SOLUTION: A succinimide compound is represented by general formula (1), wherein Ris an alkyl group or an alkenyl group having a number-average molecular weight of ≥500 and <5,000; and R-Rare each represented by any of the following formulas (2) to (4): -O(CH)CH(2) -(CH)CH (3) and -OSi(CH)CH (4) (wherein a to c are each an integer of 0-3).
