PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water intake device in which the need of a large-scaled civil work is eliminated, suction of dust or sediment during water intake can be suppressed, and water intake can be also performed in a small depth.SOLUTION: A water intake device comprises a laterally long intake pipe 2 of which one end in a length direction is a sucking port 21 and of which the other end is an intake port 22, a water pump 3 which leads water into the intake pipe 2, a laterally long and hollow holding pipe 4 into which the intake pipe 2 is inserted along the length direction, such that the sucking port 21 is positioned inside and the intake port 22 is positioned outside, and a float 5 which applies underwater buoyancy to the holding pipe 4, such that the sucking port 21 is positioned underwater. In the holding pipe 4, a plurality of sucking holes 44 are formed in a lower portion 43 than a vertically bisecting position along the length direction, and the other portion is closed, such that the holding pipe 4 is floated in water while being turned laterally. |
