<p>PURPOSE: A method for generating folders for storing icons and an electric device thereof are provided to effectively store icons in the electric device by easily generating folders. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen (880) selects one of the displayed icons. A processor unit (820) generates folders for storing the selected icons by checking whether the icons are clicked for more than set time. The processor unit is converted into multiple selection modes which select displayed icons, and the touch screen selects the icons. The touch screen selects an icon. The processor unit checks the icons in a specific area and the selection of the icons.
