The device (18) has an interior wall (19A) and/or an external wall (19B) that is arranged near a lower opening (191) for allowing introduction of molten metal i.e. liquid sodium, by foot (62). A flow meter (20) is connected to a pot (19) and is adapted to measure the molten metal that circulates through a fuel assembly (6). A set of temperature measurement units (21, 22) is connected to the pot, where the temperature measurement units are adapted to measure temperature of the molten metal in the vicinity of a central opening (610) and the foot. An independent claim is also included for a method for application of a device for measurement of residual power of a worn fuel assembly.
