<p>In order to industrially obtain 1,1,3-tris(hydroxyphenyl) cycloalkanes with a one-stage reaction, this method is provided in which a 2-cycloalkene-1-one represented by general formula (1), or a 3-hydroxy cycloalkane-1-one represented by general formula (2), is reacted with a phenol represented in formula (3) in the presence of a catalyst. (In the formula (1), R1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group or a halogen atom, R2 represents an alkyl group, an alkoxyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group or a halogen atom, m represents an integer from 0 to 2, and if R2 is substituted multiple times in the whole ring, the R2's may be the same or different, and n is an integer from 1-9.)
